FROM THE BACK COVER: ...Yves Montand was born in Monsumano, Italy, on October 13 (a Friday) 1921. His family left Italy in 1923 and moved to Marseilles where he became a French Citizen. He started life as a factory worker but the lure of the stage made him devote all of his free time to teaching himself singing, dancing and acting. After many appearances in provincial bistros he earned national recognition when Edith Piaf caught sight of his unique talents and performed with him in 1945 ... His overwhelmingly successful American tour in 1959 was climaxed by a stint in Hollywood where he filmed, with Marilyn Monroe, Let's Make Love. This is Yves Montand's second recording for Monitor.
